The truth, as I’ve come to see it, is that people want what they want and couldn’t care less what others want. From inside our tiny little minds, other people are obstacles to our wants. The way we see the world is often obscured by those wants. We become discourteous, disrespectful, disconnected, and disingenuous in our actions. Honestly, the problem with this is growing more and more with each passing day. People are rude, arrogant, and ill-tempered. They are nicer to people that they have never met in their lives, and downright NASTY to those who live a block over. It’s mind-boggling, the way that we treat other people around us. I have heard people sticking up for this whole internet connected world, but I honestly think that it is made us very insensitive to the actual world that surrounds us every day. Sure- you might be able to talk to someone in London, or even the Netherlands, about politics and such- but what do they know about living in your neighborhood??? Do they have to deal with the crime where you live personally?? Do they have to deal with someone who lives behind you that lets their dog bark all night long?? Do they have to pay the taxes that you pay?? Do they have to buy groceries at your local supermarket?? Ask yourself- what does a foreigner KNOW, or UNDERSTAND, about YOUR LOCAL PROBLEMS????? They may have their own- but they aren’t the exact same. To my mind- people who don’t live in the country that I do should have ZERO say about my country’s laws or problems. When you hear the saying, “To each their own”, perhaps APPLY it!! Anyway, that’s what I think. Sometimes, when people stick their noses where they don’t belong, you end up with bigger problems than those you started with. I know that it’s easier to imagine that other people have things so much easier in life, but they really don’t. People are people everywhere you go. They want what they want, and they care more for their own opinions and thoughts than anyone else’s. That’s just what I see. Anyway, just some random musings that I felt the need to vent. It’s just for me, right? Yep…just for me.
